Decoding the splicing code of KRAS G12C inhibitor resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

SEMM PhD Program · 2026 Spring Call  ·  IFOM ETS & University of Milan  ·  1 position

KRAS G12C inhibitors produce striking initial responses in NSCLC, but durable benefit is cut short by adaptive, largely non-genetic resistance. Building on Nokin et al. (Nat Commun 2024), this project decodes that resistance by combining AI-based splicing models with third-generation long-read sequencing, single-cell and Visium HD spatial transcriptomics, and matched proteomics across sequential drug exposures — pinpointing the RNA regulatory networks that sustain drug-tolerant cells and opening ground for RNA therapeutics.
